October 27-30, 2005

Thursday, October 27 Validated parking will be available in the garage below 124 Mt. Auburn Street during the opening reception (enter on University Road)

6:00 pm – 10:00 pm Opening Reception. 124 Mt. Auburn Street, 6th Floor. Register, meet and greet classmates, light dinner and refreshments will be served.

Friday, October 28 Free parking available from 8:00 am – midnight at the Broadway Garage, corner of Broadway and Felton Streets

8:30 am – 5:00 pm Registration. 1st Floor of Holyoke Information Center, 1350 Massachusetts Avenue.

9:00 am – 10:00 am Dean William Kirby addresses the Class of 1965 regarding plans for the college and its expansion into Allston

10:00 am – 12:00 pm Various options including campus tours and auditing classes

10:00 am – 11:00 am Docent Tour of “Degas at Harvard” at the Sackler Museum (confirmation of the tour you signed up for is in your registration packet)

10:00 am – 11:00 am Tour of the Fogg Museum collection (confirmation of the tour you signed up for is in your registration packet)

10:30 am – 12:00 pm Symposium: Stem Cell Research. Panelists include: Assoc. Prof. George Daley, Robert Trivers, Susan Shurin, moderated by Elizabeth Thomas Anderson

12:00 pm – 1:15 pm Lunch in the Houses. For those who would like to eat at one of Radcliffe’s Quad Houses, shuttle service is available from Memorial Hall leaving every ten minutes

1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Docent Tour of “Degas at Harvard” at the Sackler Museum (confirmation of the tour you signed up for is in your registration packet)

1:30 pm – 3:15 pm Symposium: Erickson and Generativity.

3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Symposium: Fate of the Earth. Panelists include: Jeff Bingaman, Joel Cohen, Jonathan Schell, moderated by Peggy DeBeers

6:30 pm – 10:30 pm Dinner at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. Parking is available at the Museum (see your reunion map for exact location).

Saturday, October 29 Free parking available from 8:00 am – midnight at the Broadway Garage, corner of Broadway and Felton Streets

7:00 am Bird Watching at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Bus service will be provided from the Charles Hotel to the cemetery at 7:00 am. The bus will bring bird watchers back to the Charles around 8:00 am.

8:30 am – 12:00 pm Registration. 1st Floor of Holyoke Information Center, 1350 Massachusetts Avenue

9:30 am Memorial Service. Memorial Church

10:10 am Class Photograph. Widner Steps

10:30 am – 12:00 pm Symposium: Leadership. Panelists include: Howard Gardner, Philip Bredesen and Mathea Falco; moderated by Susan Shepard.

11:30 pm – 1:30 pm Lunch. Dudley House (Lehman Hall).

12:30 pm Harvard vs. Dartmouth Football Game. - Or - Social service (New England Home for Little Wanderers) - Or - Visit Harvard or Boston museums

7:00 pm – 12:00 am Gala Dinner and Dancing. Harvard Club of Boston, Black Tie optional with music by Java Jive and a performance by the Harvard Ballroom Dance Team. Parking is available nearby at cost and the Club is conveniently located on the Green Line of the T as well as the #1 bus line.

Sunday, October 30 Free parking available from 7:30 am – 12:00 pm at the Broadway Garage, corner of Broadway and Felton Streets

9:00 am – 11:00 am Farewell Continental Breakfast. Dudley House (Lehman Hall).
