Adding and Removing User Fields

The CB Field manager is at:

Joomla->Components->Community Builder->Field Management

here you can add, delete or edit user fields. If you simply want to disable a field, rather than deleting it, just click the check mark in the Published column for the field. The check mark will turn to a red X and the field will be disabled.

When you create new fields, the name is automatically prefixed with "cb_". (If you enter the cb_ underscore, the program is smart enough not to add it a second time.)

Note the Type box at the top of the New field page. This controls the type of display control used to enter the data and the type of data stored. For example, you can select check boxes, drop down lists, text fields, text areas and so on.

The "Tab" field controls where the information will be displayed on the user's profile. If you don't want the user to be able to see the data, then we suggest adding it to the "Administrator information" tab, which is set to only display for administrators.
