This year Harvard football's season opener with Holy Cross is a NIGHT GAME that starts at 7 PM at Harvard Stadium. The Class of '57 will be having a tailgate party before the game so SAVE THE DATE, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH. CLASS OF 1957 TAILGATE PARTY

Louis Newell made arrangements for some excellent seats for Harvard Football's season opener with Holy Cross on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH. It is a NIGHT GAME that starts at 7 PM at Harvard Stadium. Beginning at 5 o'clock the CLASS OF '57 will be hosting a FESTIVE TAILGATE PARTY. We will provide free soft drinks, ice, and the use of some BBQ grills. The rest is BYO.

Football tickets from us are $12 each

The DEADLINE IS September 1st. If you plan to attend please email wsisson@post.harvard.edu by September 1st to be given the exact location of this gala event -- and please mention it to other classmates that might not read this announcement.

Come and have fun at this first class event leading up to our 55th Reunion in 2012!

Dear Classmate –

We are happy with the great response to the Class of ’57 Tailgate party! After 5 PM we will be located at the Webster Field lot which is to the left of the round end of the Stadium after you enter at Gate 6. Look for ‘57 signs. Parking is at the Business School parking lot and garage.

1. So that we can purchase the tickets, please send a check for $12.00 per ticket IMMEDIATELY

2. Let us know now if you will want to use a BBQ so that we cam make adequate arrangements.

3. The class will provide soft drinks, ice and cups. EVERYTHING ELSE is “BRING YOUR OWN.” If you need seating, consider bringing folding chairs. Unfortunately, we can not supply such amenities.

4. Be aware that there is a new rule that if you leave the Stadium area after you have surrendered your ticket, you will need a new ticket to re-enter.

We look forward to getting together with you at this pre-55th reunion event!

Your 2 tickets are in Section 32 (between the 40 and 50 yard lines) and they will be given to you at the tailgate party.

This event was attended by over 35 people (25 classmates). The new rule that “once a spectator enters the stadium area, a new ticket is required if one leaves and tries to re-enter the stadium area,” influenced some who wanted to attend. They preferred to purchase from vendors, all of whom were inside the stadium area, before the game. Therefore, they were not permitted to leave and enjoy the tailgate party.
