Notes on Joomla 1.6 compatibility

There are major changes between Joomla 1.5 and 1.6. Here's the status of the components we use:

• Community Builder 1.4 is compatible with 1.6.
• GMaps Pro 2.0 RC2 is compatible with 1.5, I've installed this version and it's buggy. Dropped back to version 1 and modified it to work with Joomla 1.5. Major work required to go to 1.6. Current version uses pattemplate extensively and this has been dropped in 1.6.
• Event List. Beta version has some but not all of the changes for 1.6. The code is still a ways from 1.6 compatibility because of ACL problems. I'm going to wait and see if they finish it up.
• Expose Prive - only in legacy mode - Have modified to work in 1.5. Not tested in 1.6
• Nice Talk - legacy only - no development - Have modified to work in 1.5. Not tested in 1.6
• Sticky Message Pro - They have a 1.6 native version. Not tested yet.
• CB Mailing - we've edited so heavily we will have to deal with it. Version we are on is 1.5 native and our changes work ok. Not yet tested in 1.6.
• Google Analytics Bridge - 1.5 native. Not tested in 1.6.
• CB Photo Gallery - 1.5 compatible, we are on 1.2 RC2, which is the latest. Supposedly 1.6 compatible, not yet tested.
• Alternate Home works in 1.5 Native. Not yet tested in 1.6
• All Links works in 1.5 Native. Not yet tested in 1.6.
• Login Redirect works in 1.5 Native. Not yet tested in 1.6
• Add yourself to the reunion attendees fails. Fixed, minor changes to db access. Updated for 1.6.
• Summary reunion list is ok. Updated for 1.6.
• HAA Reunion Mgr admin fails. Made minor changes to db access. Updated for 1.6
• HAA Reunion CB plugin is ok. Not yet tested in 1.6

NOTE: There are a number of admin features that don't work with IE 9. This is not a function of 1.5. If you click the "Compatibility View" button in IE 9, then it works ok.
